Register here to receive materials by mail for individuals who are experiencing significant barriers to accessing the library.

If you are physically unable to use any WWCRLD locations because of a disability (permanent or temporary), lack of transportation, or similar circumstance, you may be eligible to receive library materials by mail!

FAQs

Can I renew my items?

If no other users have holds on the item, you may renew it online or by calling (509) 516-1195.
Do I need to provide proof that I cannot get to a library branch?

We do not require proof of need; however, we cannot switch service types back and forth from mail order to in-branch services more often than every 6 weeks.
How do I order or place holds?

You can place holds one of three ways: by logging into our online catalog, by calling (509) 516-1195 and speaking with a library staff member, or by filling out the paper reorder form that will arrive with your order.
How do I return my materials?

Shipments come with a return label which you can attach on top of the shipping label on the original packaging. Alternatively, all WWCRLD branch library drop boxes are open 24/7 for returns.
How do materials get to me?

Materials come in waterproof mail envelopes.
How long does it take to receive my items?

When we have received all of your holds or enough to fill a mailing envelope, the items will be checked out to your account and shipped. From that point, it can take up to two weeks for them to arrive in the mail. This time frame is taken into account when we set the due dates for your items.
How many items can I check out at a time?

Mail order items are limited to 5 at a time.
Is there a cost?

This program is free for eligible patrons. WWCRLD does not charges fines for late materials. However, if an item is lost or damaged, patrons are charged a replacement fee, and their account is blocked until cleared.
What types of materials can I check out?

All materials except for Library of Things (LOT) items may be checked out through mail order services. This includes books, audiobooks on CD, magazines, DVDs, and playaways. However, some items may be too large to send through the mail, such as coffee table books. We will notify you if an item you have requested cannot be mailed.
Who is eligible for this service?

Any library patron with an active account (card) in good standing who is unable to visit our branches for at least 6 weeks. This may be due to injury, disability, transportation, or similar circumstances.
